The NSF Is Coming to Brown
Looking for FUNDING from the NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION? Now is your chance to meet someone right here ON CAMPUS. DR. SEMAHAT DEMIR, the Program Director for Biomedical Engineering at the NSF, will present TWO SESSIONS on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16.
Dr. Demir participates in ten NSF and interagency funding programs, including NER/NIRT and IGERT.
Session 1 - Brown Bag with the NSF: Dr. Demir will present a summary of funding opportunities, along with an overview of NSF, its current priority areas and the Merit Review Criteria.

Session 2 - Peer-Mentoring Women in Biomedical Engineering: Applications to Multiple Disciplines: Dr. Demir will discuss her own experience developing a peer-mentoring program for women in biomedical engineering. The talk will be relevant to FACULTY and GRADUATE STUDENTS in the biomed, physical and life sciences.
