SPIN Plus Training Workshops The Office of Sponsored Projects is pleased to offer training sessions in the use of the Sponsored Programs Information Network, SPIN Plus Database Service. This exciting service offers several different ways for faculty and staff to find funding opportunities for research and other sponsored projects. During this training session we will be covering how to run both a "Quick Search" and an "Advanced Search" using the powerful SPIN database engine to find funding opportunities relevant to your research/project needs. Available funding opportunities cover a wide variety of interests and are not restricted to the sciences. We will also be discussing the use of two other SPINPlus features, Global Expertise Network for Industry, University and Scholars (GENIUS) and SPIN Matching and Research Transmittal Service (SMARTS) . GENIUS is a flexible CV/Bio-Sketch database which includes an integrated 398 Bio-Sketch template. SMARTS is an automated alert system which matches investigators with funding opportunity announcements based on their user profiles. The training sessions take place on Mondays, at 2:00, unless otherwise noted, in the CIT Room, 269. These sessions offer users an opportunity for hands on training. This session is open to faculty, staff, and students.
